COVID-19 Information
Uninsured residents:
If individuals are uninsured and prior to testing, they could enroll in CA's new PE program.
Individuals can see if they are eligible for Medi-Cal by: https://c4yourself.com/c4yourself/index.jsp or call 1-866-323-1953. If the person is otherwise eligible, they can apply for Medi-Cal and get the three (3) months of retro coverage that should cover all COVID-19 testing costs, regardless of eligibility for full-scope or restricted scope Medi-Cal.
Insured residents:
The FFA and the CARES Act require that group health plans & individual health insurance plans cover COVID-19 testing without cost-sharing or prior authorization if furnished on/after March 18, 2020. See this CMS guidance, Q7 about getting reimbursement for an out-of-network provider.
