Cannabis and Breastfeeding
Cannabis can be passed to your baby through breast milk.
- THC is stored in fat and is slowly released over time, meaning your baby could still be exposed days later
Pumping and dumping does not work.
Data on the effects of cannabis exposure to your baby through breastfeeding is limited and conflicting. To limit potential risk to your baby, breastfeeding mothers should avoid cannabis use.
