The following project types can be classified as a minor permit. These catalogues of permits are given higher priority than other permit review.

Residential

1. Single story addition less than 500 square feet
2. Deck, patio cover, patio enclosure, trellis, less than 1,000 square feet
3. Carport, stable, greenhouse, (One (1) story and less than 1,000 square feet)
4. Detached garage 500 to 1,000 square feet, storage building and barns 500 to1,000 square feet with fire department approval
5. Interior alteration or repair of minor fire damage
6. Roof pitch change, new roof structures, wall siding
7. Garage conversion less than 500 square feet

Commercial

1. Neon electric sign
2. Minor interior alteration for offices with no change of occupancy
3. Minor interior alteration for grocery store with no change of occupancy
4. Minor Title 24 accessibility upgrade

Exclusion

1. No violations or work started prior to permit issuance
2. No storage/use of hazardous materials of any amount
3. No detached building with more than 2 plumbing fixtures
4. No second story additions
5. No revisions to plans for projects which are under construction
