Sustainable Agricultural Land Conservation Program
The Sustainable Agricultural Lands Conservation Program provides planning grants to develop plans for the protection of agricultural land at risk of conversion to nonagricultural uses. These plans support agricultural land conservation by protecting the land base and developing regional food systems. Plans may also recognize and protect environmental co-benefits of conserving agricultural lands. The County received a $182,366 grant to establish an Agricultural Land Mitigation Program. The goal of the land mitigation program is to protect agricultural land and reduce greenhouse gas emissions that may result from the conversion of this land to urban uses.
