Assessor

Determines assessed values

The County Assessor determines the value of the property and transmits that information to the County Auditor.

Auditor-Controller

Calculates tax rates and taxes due

The Auditor computes the amount of tax due by multiplying the net taxable value of the property by the applicable tax rate. Added to the tax amount are the direct assessments levied by agencies and districts.

Tax Collector

Sends the bills and collects the taxes

The Auditor then transmits the bill to the Tax Collector and charges the Treasurer-Tax Collector with it's collection. The Tax Collector sends the bills to the taxpayers and collects the taxes due.

Auditor-Controller

Distributes the taxes collected

The Auditor distributes the taxes collected.
