The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) is releasing this Health Advisory to inform healthcare providers about the recent increases in mpox cases. CDPH encourages providers to consider mpox in their differential diagnoses, to test persons with suspected mpox, to treat mpox, and to offer vaccines to populations at increased risk to prevent severe mpox disease and reduce the number of new infections.
