Your medical provider can also order a COVID-19 test for you. Some medical providers offer rapid COVID-19 testing in their offices. If not, your medical provider can write an order for testing that you can take to a laboratory. The laboratory will bill your insurance for the cost of the test. You may be responsible for a portion of the cost, depending on the type of insurance you have.
COVID-19 test kits are available for purchase at many pharmacies. Some insurances will cover reimburse you for the cost of the test kit. Check with your insurance company for details. Medi-Cal pays for 8 at home test kits per month through September 30, 2024.
