Child Care Guidance
County of Monterey Health Department recommends that all child care providers and early education programs follow the California Safe Schools for All guidance.
Reporting Requirements
Per California Code of Regulations Title 17 Section 2500, schools are required to report suspected outbreaks to the local health department. Schools can report to the Monterey County Health Department using the Monterey County Health Department's Communicable Disease Report Form, School Year 2022-2023. Health Department staff may request information on close contacts identified in the educational setting, which can be summarized on the department's line/tracking list.
