The training tool above is intended to serve as an educational trending document and is based off 2022 local trauma data Trauma Evaluation and Quality Improvement Committee (TEQIC) direction. This tool is being provided as an opportunity to better understand trauma patient management trends and offers guidance/quality improvement take-aways.

Triage Tag Training

The training tool is a pdf version of the facilitated PowerPoint presentation to prepare for the Monterey County EMS Triage Tag Training Days.  It is intended for individual study and preparation.  This training tool will provide instruction for the Triage Tag Training Day, a brief review of START Triage, and an overview of the triage tag in use in Monterey County.

Human Trafficking in Healthcare Setting

Program Description: This course provides an overview of the types and venues of human trafficking affecting healthcare in the United States. Learning Objectives: By the end of the presentation, the learner will be able to:

  1. Define human trafficking and how it affects healthcare.
  2. Recognize the types and venues of human trafficking in the United States.
  3. Identify risk factors and potential warning signs that victims of human trafficking might exhibit and apply immediate interventions as needed.

Base Hospital Physician Orientation

This orientation covered review of requirements for Base Hospitals, communication methods, and circumstances frequently encountered by Base Hospital Physicians.  The course was presented on March 29, 2021 by Dr. John Beuerle, the Medical Director for the Monterey County EMS Agency.  If you have any questions about the training, please contact the EMS Agency at EMSAdmin@co.monterey.ca.us.

Crash, Bonk, Thud! (Trauma Case Studies) Training

This training course covered a survey of various trauma cases studies and included a review of trauma triage, assessment, treatment, and destination considerations.  The course was presented on November 16, 2021 by Dr. John Beuerle, the Medical Director for the Monterey County EMS Agency.  If you have any questions about the training, please contact the EMS Agency at EMSAdmin@co.monterey.ca.us.

 

TXA Training

TXA is a medication that will be implemented for ALS providers in Monterey County beginning on January 1, 2021. The training in this webinar is required for all paramedics in Monterey County. The post-test is also required. When you have completed both the webinar and the post-test, e-mail the test to EMSAdmin@co.monterey.ca.us or mail it to:
