The Historic Advisory Commission (HAC) is an appointed body that is charged with making recommendations to the Board of Supervisors related to the promotion of history and preservation of historical sites and artifacts. The Commission is not required by State or Federal laws. 

Legislative Reference: Formed by Board of Supervisors Resolution No. 80-419 on July 22, 1908.

Membership: Shall consist of 10 members and be comprised as follows: Two (2) appointees from each Supervisorial District. Membership terms are for 3 years.

Qualifications & Function: To advise the Board of Supervisors on matters relating to the history and preservation of historic sites and artifacts.

Meeting Dates, Times, and Place: Meets the second Monday of every other month, starting in February at 10:00a.m. at 1441 Schilling Place, 1st Floor, Salinas, CA, in the Saffron Room.
