Background

California Water Code (Section 13752) requires that owner name and address information on well completion reports remain confidential. All other data on a Well Completion Report, including but not limited to well construction details, geologic descriptions, and well location, is accessible to the public.

Well Completion Report Availability

MCWRA maintains a library of well completion reports that have been submitted for wells in Monterey County. MCWRA can provide copies of well completion reports to individuals or other agencies following receipt of a written request.

The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) maintains a state-wide file of well completion reports. Information about obtaining access to CA DWR's records and filing original well completion reports is available here.
