Monterey County has over 13,000 registered commercial weighing and measuring devices. Inspectors verify that each device is approved for its intended use and test it for accuracy.

It is unlawful for any person to use a weighing or measuring device for commercial purposes unless the instrument or device is registered with the Sealer. Registration shall be in addition to any other certificate, license or permit required by the County or any other public entity.

New businesses with commercial devices, or existing businesses with registered devices who wish to update their contact information, please complete and submit the linked Device Registration Application.
