The following guidelines apply to coolers and shippers requesting phytosanitary certificate inspections:

  • Call our quarantine duty officer (759-7370) and ask for the export requirements for the state (within the US) or country you have plans to export to.
  • Some states/countries require additional declarations on the phytosanitary certificate, such as official verifications of field inspection during growing stage, lab results and/or any other information desired by that state/country.
  • Florida and Panama shipment requests must be made before 3:00 p.m. with product available before 3:30 p.m.
  • Taiwan shipments must be submitted online 24 hours in advance.  Contact Cara Brents, Quarantine Deputy, for more information (759-7325).
  • Seed companies require 24 hour submission for office duty approval.  Completed phytosanitary certificate must be submitted before 3:00 p.m. for next day inspection.  For help or more information, contact Quarantine Office Duty at 759-7370.
  • Please be sure that each cooling facility provides the inspector a safe working area.
  • Cooler staff may be asked to help provide a raised inspection surface (pallets, boxes, and table) in an area that has enough light for an inspection.
  • Should product not be available for a scheduled inspection, a service fee of $100.00 may apply.

If you have any questions, please call our office and talk with a quarantine officer.
