Land Use and Onsite Wastewater Treatment (Septic) System

Land Use Permit Fees

Land use entitlements, construction permits and inspection fees are authorized by state law (Government Code section 66014).  The Environmental Health Bureau of the Health Department has fees for services provided for the review of planning and construction permit applications for land use entitlements and construction permits and entitlements and are included with Section 5 of Article I.E of the Health Department Fee Article.  The fees cover a portion of the staff cost of processing applications for construction permits and associated activities and do not exceed the reasonable or actual costs of performing the service.   In most cases, land use fees are assessed and collected the Resource Management Agency – Planning and/or Building Services Departments.  However in certain instances, such as construction of a food facility or cannabis manufacturing facility, a separate plan check will be required and is subject to additional fees that will be payable directly to the Health Department.
