  • Medical Provider Reporting: 831-755-5100 and ask for the Hazardous Materials Team
  • Members of the public who wish to report a public health emergency or health risk outside of normal business hours should call 9-1-1.  Members of the public with a medical emergency should always call 9-1-1. 

The Monterey County Health Department’s Communicable Disease Unit is responsible for preventing and controlling the spread of infectious diseases like Salmonellosis, E. coli infection, influenza, whooping cough, West Nile virus, chlamydia, and gonorrhea.  If you have questions about a communicable disease, please contact us at the number above.
