The Monterey County Health Department’s Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit is responsible for investigating and controlling outbreaks of communicable diseases.  The Unit also gathers and analyzes statistical information about communicable diseases, perinatal health indicators, and mortality among Monterey County residents.  This information is de-identified then compiled into maps, fact sheets, and detailed epidemiologic profiles that are available for use by medical providers, community organizations, and the public.  Please see the Data and Reports section of our website for a listing of available publications.

If you have data requests or questions about surveillance activities, please contact us at the number above.
