Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Week webinar - Childcare providers

The Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Branch (CLPPB) is hosting a webinar series during Lead Woman with headphones looking at a laptopWeek 2021 which highlights important lead poisoning prevention work taking place throughout the state of California. Each weekday during Lead Week, CLPPB will host a webinar session for a particular target audience or population that the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program serves. The target audiences include local health jurisdiction health programs, healthcare providers, childcare providers, parents and communities, and environmental professionals. Please join the California Department of Public Health for the following  free sessions open to the public. Each session will offer closed captioning and real-time Spanish language translations. The sessions will be recorded and shared on this page in mid-November. Click on the links for each session to register.

Thursday, October 28, from 10a-11a PDT

California licensed child care facilities and child care providers are invited to join the California Department of Social Services for a presentation related to the new California Day Care Facilities Act, which sets forth new requirements for testing drinking water for lead. This session will provide up-to-date information and requirements for lead testing and funding opportunities for protecting children from lead in drinking water.

Environmental professionals are invited to join Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Orange County Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Programs as they share best practices for environmental professionals for collaborating with local code enforcement agencies, conducting proactive rental inspections, and collaborating with local communities experiencing environmental injustice.
