Course Description: 

Learn the legal requirements of placing individuals on involuntary hold & how to successfully document an involuntary hold application.

Target Audience: 

All MCBH & Provider Clinical Staff authorized to initiate 72-hour, Involuntary Holds (5150/5585 holds). “Authorized individuals” include Masters, Ph.D. and Medical Staff from MCBH, Interim, Felton, CHOMP and NMC. Other staff and staff from other agencies, including BHA, SWIII, and Medical Assistants, please have your supervisor contact Jill Walker, Training Manager, to discuss authorization. MSW, MFT, and PCC interns can attend the class but will not be authorized to place individuals on holds unless the intern works with a crisis team.
