The County Clerk Recorder’s Office hours of operation are Monday – Friday, From 8 A.M. to 12 P.M. and 1 P.M. to 5 P.M. (Closed for lunch from 12 P.M. to 1 P.M.)
The general function of the County Clerk's office is to review various types of documents prior to their issuance, filing and/or registration in order to make sure that they are in compliance with the California codes and State statutes.
THE COUNTY CLERK HAS THE FOLLOWING BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Issues and registers marriage licenses
- Files fictitious business names, notary oaths of office, power of attorneys, surety bonds, and inventory statements, among other miscellaneous filings
- Files California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) documents
- Registers Professional Photocopiers, Process Servers, Unlawful Detainer Assistants, Legal Document Assistants, and Humane Officers
- Is the local filing official for the Fair Political Practice Commission in the notification, filing and reporting of certain Statements of Economic Interest
- Maintains a list of public rosters
