ILLEGAL CANNABIS CULTIVATION RESULTS IN FELONY CONVICTION
Monterey County DA Jeannine M. Pacioni announced today that Tom Hays Gries, age 44, was sentenced for a cannabis cultivation operation discovered at his property in May 2018. Gries received a three-year probation sentence and was ordered to serve 150 days in jail.

SALINAS MAN SENTENCED 16 YEARS PRISON FOR CONTINUOUS SEXUAL ABUSE OF A CHILD AND WITNESS DISSUASION
Monterey County District Attorney Jeannine M. Pacioni announced today that on January 15, 2020, Jose Alejandro Diaz, age 49, a resident of Salinas, was sentenced to 16 years prison for continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14 and multiple attempts to dissuade a witness.

DA Jeannine M. Pacioni announced that Judge Andrew Liu sentenced Ian Nathaniel Czirban, a 34-year-old resident of Madera County, to felony probation following his October 2019 conviction for payroll tax evasion, submitting false documents to CAL FIRE and failing to carry workers' comp insurance.

JURY FINDS SEASIDE MAN GUILTY OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Monterey County District Attorney Jeannine M. Pacioni announced today that a jury found a Seaside resident, Robert Ray Daniels, Jr., guilty of domestic violence against the mother of his child. Judge Carrie Panetta presided over the jury trial.

Monterey County District Attorney Jeannine M. Pacioni announced today that Corrie Denise Arriaga, age 44 of Seaside, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for first-degree murder of Courtney Ann Turney, 33, a dependent adult originally from Oklahoma.

CASTROVILLE MAN SENTENCED TO NINE YEARS IN PRISON FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CAUSING GREAT BODILY INJURY
Monterey County District Attorney Jeannine M. Pacioni announced today that Castroville resident David Gonzalez Lara, age 50, was sentenced by Judge Pamela L. Butler to nine years in prison for committing domestic violence causing great bodily injury.

Monterey County District Attorney Jeannine M. Pacioni announced today that Patrick Ken Cochran, age 53, pled guilty to one count of vehicular manslaughter while under the influence, which resulted in the death of Jocelyn Young.

KING CITY MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO ARMED ROBBERY OF 7-ELEVEN STORE CLERK AND RESISTING ARREST
Monterey County District Attorney Jeannine M. Pacioni announced today that King City resident, Jose Aceves, age 39, pled to one count of armed robbery and one count of resisting arrest. The defendant also admitted that he has a prior strike conviction.
