Committee Responsibilities:
Receive information and updates on the activities of the Equal Opportunity Advisory Commission, matters related to the Monterey Plan, and the activities of the Equal Opportunity Office, and provide guidance as needed.

Advisory Commissions
Through the Equal Opportunity Advisory Commission and the Commission on Disability a forum is provided to explore and address the County’s needs and important community concerns. Through the establishment of these commissions, the County Board of Supervisors has expressed its commitment to equality and fairness through out our community.
Equal Opportunity Advisory Commission
The purpose of the Equal Opportunity Advisory Commission (EOAC) is to advise and make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors on matters relating to equal opportunity as part of the Equal Opportunity Plan for County of Monterey (EOP). Recommend goals and time tables regarding the EOP for departments and the County. Review annually and make recommendation of the progress of departmental plans and furtherance of the EOP goals for equal opportunity. Monterey County Commission On Disability
The purpose of the Monterey County Commission on Disability is to fulfill its role as advisor to the Monterey County Board of Supervisors regarding matters relating to equal access to employment, public services, communications and public accommodations for persons with disabilities. The commission’s scope of activities is to inquire, listen, and engage in discussion with any persons or entities for the purpose of gathering information of potential interest to the Board of Supervisors.
