The County of Monterey ("County") neither endorses nor recommends any particular health club or fitness center listed in the Directory. The County is not representing that the health clubs or fitness centers listed in the Directory and will in fact extend the offers of discount to any County employee who wants to enroll in any of the health clubs or fitness centers listed in the Directory. Nor will the County have any financial or other responsibility if the health clubs or fitness centers listed in the Directory refuses, fails to, or later withdraws the offers to provide discounts for County employees who want to join a health club or fitness center listed in the Directory.
The County will not be financially or legally responsible in any way for any personal injury, property damage, financial loss, or any other loss or damage that any County employee may sustain as a result of any County employee’s participation in any health club or fitness center listed in the Directory. Employees who partici-pate or enroll in any health club or fitness center listed in the Directory assume any and all risks involved in such activity.
The health clubs and fitness centers listed in the Directory are participating on a voluntary basis. Member-ship at these health clubs and fitness centers is voluntary on the part of County employees. County employ-ees may be asked to provide proof of employment or retirement with the County in order to receive the dis-count rate. County employees are responsible for paying all membership costs and fees attached to mem-bership in any health club or fitness center listed in the Directory.
The Wellness Program periodically verifies the accuracy of the information provided by the health clubs and fitness centers listed in the Directory. The Wellness Program does and will not negotiate or guarantee the rates/fees or discounts or be involved in or have any responsibility in any attempt by any County employee or retiree to obtain or enforce the discount rates. All health club and fitness center membership rates are subject to change at the discretion of the health club and fitness center alone.
Based on information received from the health clubs and fitness centers listed in the Directory, the discount rates are intended for new memberships only and in most cases good for one year only. Contact the health club or fitness center directly to confirm the discount rates, discount effective date, and facility or other membership information.
By listing a facility in the Directory, the County is in no way representing that the rates of the health clubs or fitness centers are the most competitive rates on the market. It is the responsibility of each County employee or to research, compare prices and levels of service, and any licensing or certification requirements prior to enrolling in or signing a membership contract with any of the health clubs or fitness centers listed in the Di-rectory.
Please share your experiences with the listed facilities. If any of the listed facilities discontinue their discount offers, contact us immediately so that they can be removed from the directory. In addition, if you are interest-ed in a health club or fitness center not listed, please provide information for that facility to the Wellness Program and we will contact that health club. Your feedback will help us improve our service to County employees.
