In response to the COVID-19 emergency, the County of Monterey is seeking Healthcare professionals and other healthy adults to meet the County's continued resource demands in critical areas of the COVID-19 emergency response efforts.

Emergency Healthcare Volunteers

Currently, we are actively recruiting Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners and Physicians who have a valid, active, and in good standing medical license for the State of California to serve as Disaster Service Worker Volunteers. We are also seeking non-clinical volunteers to assist with the clerical and operational needs of medical facilities. All Emergency Volunteers are deployed based upon the County's needs, as well as identified skills and/or your specific license(s) you possess. Health care providers, public health professionals, and members of medical disaster response are needed to volunteer with the Monterey County Health Department.

  • Administer vaccines 
  • Vaccination and testing clinic support 
  • Patient registration/processing

General Volunteers

 

 

(Please note that becoming an Emergency Volunteer is a lengthy and involved process and should only be undertaken if you can fully commit to a minimum of 16 hours per week for at least three consecutive weeks)

  • Alternative Housing Site (AHS) Workers 
    • Welcomes guests to the AHS and take the necessary steps to ensure the guest(s) have what they need to isolate and recover comfortably.
    • Performs physical trailer maintenance duties, which could include trailer cleanup and other needs that arise.
    • Personally, delivers food and other items to COVID positive guests in all types of weather.
    • Reports guest health information to other co-workers such as site staff, medical personnel, and FAST workers.
    • Completes the required registration forms with the new guest.
    • Orients guests to the AHS, including their room or trailer assignment.
