The Monterey County Public Defender’s Office offers a variety of employment opportunities for both established professionals and law students seeking work in the field of criminal defense practice. Staffing includes, but is not limited to, senior management, trial attorneys, administration, psychiatric social worker and investigations. If you are in law school, you may be interested in our volunteer legal internship program. The Public Defender offers internships, Pre-Bar and Post-Bar training along with embracing volunteer support.
