Special events (fundraisers, concerts, sports events, festivals, etc.) are events that charge a fee, sell tickets, or raise funds, or utilize Park facilities in a way other than intended for regular day use. Events with attendance under 5,000 require approval by the RMA Director. Events with expected attendance over 5,000 are also considered special events and require approval from the Board of Supervisors. These events require an application, calendar coordination and deposit payment. Special events require an application a minimum of six (6) months in advance of the planned event. Twelve (12) months is required for events over 5,000 attendance. Please see “Group Facilities” under each individual park for fee and reservation information.

  • Fees
    Please contact us for current fees.

    Note: You may not charge a fee to participants for any event within a Monterey County Park without following the special event process. This does not include sharing costs for family celebrations, retirement parties, etc. Additionally, political or religious assemblies require Board of Supervisors approval.

  • Photography & Filming Permits

    Submit your Photography and Filming Application, along with a printed copy of Certificate of Insurance. These forms can be submitted in person, by U.S mail, by fax or emailed to Parks@co.monterey.ca.us

  • Permits will not be approved until all items are received. Fees will be due at time of issuance. Please allow 5-7 Business Days to process application requests.

  • Annual Photography Permit
    For commercial portrait photographers. A card is issued which is good for one year from date of purchase. Permit includes day use fee for photographer and client vehicles. This permit does not apply to Laguna Seca Recreation Area.
       
  • Still Photography
    For advertising, brochures, etc. This permit does not apply to photography associated with the race track at Laguna Seca.

  • Television or Video Filming
    This permit does not apply to filming associated with the race track at Laguna Seca.

  • Motion Picture Productions
    This permit does not apply to filming associated with the race track at Laguna Seca.

  • Special Conditions
    The fee for any photography or filming which involves pyrotechnics, high speed stunts, or sites and times not generally available for photography or filming shall be equal to a minimum of the daily fee.
