About Carmel Valley Branch
Carmel Valley stretches 15 miles from the Cahoon Ranch to Carmel Bay. The Sierra de Salinas lies on the east and the Santa Lucia Range on the west. The Carmel Valley Branch of the Monterey County Free Libraries is located in Carmel Valley Village. This settlement became a popular place thanks to Byington Ford, a prominent real estate businessman and his brother, Tyrey L. Ford, a well-known businessman and private pilot who built an airport there.
The Carmel Valley Branch Library was established on December 19, 1938 as the Carmelo Library, and was moved to its present location in 1980.
