Welcome to the County of Monterey Safety webpage.  At Monterey County, we are committedSafety First to providing a safe and incident-free workplace.  Our goal is to provide an environment free of conditions with potential to cause injury and illness through the implementation of an effective Injury and Illness Prevention Program and Department Specific Safety Procedures. 

 

County Safety Team

County employee safety is facilitated and promoted by the Risk Management Division in combination with each department head and selected department safety coordinators with the goal of preventing workplace injuries, illnesses, and fatalities.

Employee Suggestion and Hazard Reporting

The Employee’s Safety Suggestion/Hazard Report has been created for all Monterey County employees, whether their status be volunteer, part time or full time.  All County employees are encouraged to report unsafe work conditions, safety hazards, near miss incidents and provide safety improvement suggestions.  By submitting a detailed report, employees can help the County take action in areas where safety improvements are needed most.
