Dog Park Rules
Open Sunrise to Sunset
• Dog Parks will open at sunrise and close at sunset.
• The public may use the dog parks, at their own risk, subject to full compliance with all park rules.
• Dogs must be leashed while outside dog park enclosures.
• Dog owners/handlers are limited to bringing a maximum of three (3) dogs into the park.
• Female dogs in heat & puppies under four (4) months are not allowed in the dog parks.
• Dog feces must be cleaned up immediately and placed in designated receptables.
• Dog owners are solely liable and financially responsible for any injury(ies) or property damage caused by them or their dogs.
• Caution must be exercised when bringing small children to dog parks, and children under 12 must be accompanied and supervised, at all times, by an adult.
• Dogs may never be left unattended in the dog park.
• Dogs brought into the dog parks must be currently licensed and vaccinated, and wear a collar or harness displaying current license and rabies tags.
• The small dog park is restricted to dogs weighing no more than 35 pounds.
• No dog exhibiting aggressive behavior toward people or animals shall be brought to the dog park. An “aggressive dog” is defined as a dog that makes, or repeatedly attempts to make, negative physical advance(s) or contact with any person or animal. “Negative physical contact” is contact that is potentially harmful or dangerous to persons or animals. Behavior includes, but is not limited to snapping, growling, charging, lunging, mounting, raising hackles, or biting.
• EGCSD reserves the right to ban any dog permanently from the dog park after any significant event or three (3) documented incidents of aggressive dog behavior/negative physical contact as defined above. Any dog that draws blood or causes bodily harm to another dog or person will be banned immediately from the use of the dog parks.
• No food is allowed in the dog parks, except for dog treats. Owners/Handles may give dog treats to their dog only if it is done in judicious manner that does not entice or cause competition or aggressive behavior from another dog.
• No dog may be fed or picked up without the dog owner’s prior consent.
• Possession or consumption of alcohol and cannabis is prohibited.
• Smoking, including inhaling, exhaling, burner, or carrying any lighted, heated, or ignited cigar, cigarette, cigarillo, pipe, hookah, or Electronic Smoking Device, a defined in Chapter 14.12, is prohibited.
• Amplified sound shall not exceed fifty (50) decibels as measured at a distance of fifty (50) feet from the source on a sound-level meter using A-weighted network.
• Bringing trash into the park is prohibited.
• All trash must be placed into the provided receptacle or removed from the park.
