The mission of Monterey County Department of Child Support Services is to enhance the well-being of children and the self-sufficiency of families by providing professional services to locate parents, establish parentage and establish and enforce orders for financial and medical support.

Our services are available to all parents or legal guardians who would like assistance in obtaining or enforcing a child support order.

Monterey County DCSS assists parents to establish parentage, medical and child support orders. In addition, we help parents enforce medical and child support orders through various tools available to our department. We also assist parents with modification of child support orders when appropriate. We collect and distribute child support to parents as well as provide a full accounting of all child support owed, paid and received.

In addition, our office will facilitate genetic testing, as provided by law, and will help with locate services to find parents for the purpose of establishing and enforcing child support.
