The County Safety Team is a diverse team serving all County departments with a variety of safety support functions.  Under direction of the Risk Management Division, the County Safety Officer, supported by Safety Coordinator/Investigators and department safety coordinators, implement the County Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) to achieve program goals, objectives, priorities, procedures and policies.

GOAL: The County safety team's main goal is to prevent workplace injuries, illnesses, and deaths.

VISION: Take a proactive approach to managing workplace safety, finding and fixing hazards before they cause injury or illness.

MISSION:

  • Prevent workplace injuries and illnesses
  • Improve compliance with laws and regulations
  • Reduce costs, including significant reductions in workers' compensation premiums
  • Engage workers
  • Enhance their social responsibility goals
  • Increase productivity and enhance overall business operations
