What issues should I report online?

Abandoned properties/animals, Barking Dogs, Habitual Dogs Running Loose, Animal Feces, Dog Bites, Unpermitted Livestock (including chickens), Past Tense Animal Attack, Feral Cat/Community Cat, Dead animals on public property in the City of Salinas, Records Requests.

Contact us by phone for an animal emergency or to report a stray/abandoned/unweaned animal. Some animal calls may require a more immediate officer response.

An animal emergency includes the following:

• In progress animal attack and animal is still loose
• Severe sick/injured domestic animal

What is considered a non-emergency call that may require an ACO to respond?

• Stray dog for Pick Up, Dog Out Loose, Non-Severe Sick/Injured Domestic Animals, Possibly Abandoned Animals, Underaged Animals with No Mother.

Wildlife Issues:
Animal Services does not typically response to wildlife calls. Please contact the Wildlife Department at the SPCA for Monterey County for guidance on wildlife issues at www.spcamc.org.

For large wildlife, such as bears and mountain lions, please call the Department of Fish and Wildlife at (916) 653-6420.
