The County of Monterey’s website (the Website) is designed to provide readability and usability, which include accessibility features so people with disabilities can utilize it effectively.
Section 508 standards and WCAG 2.0, Level AA are used as accessibility guidelines for the Website. As the Website is currently a combination of new and old technologies, and new and existing content, there is an ongoing process of testing, developing, and updating the Website for accessibility.

Limitations
Individuals with and without disabilities access the Website using widely varying types of software and hardware. The Website design cannot anticipate every accessibility need due to known limitations of existing technology and the unknown limitations of future technologies. There may be other circumstances, independent of technology that may limit accessibility of County websites. Creating accessible formats for some historical documentation and graphical renderings maintained by the County may be technologically unfeasible.
Existing links and existing content on departmental, agency and third-party websites and features may not satisfy the Guidelines. As departments and others update existing websites, it is expected that accessibility will increase. The County does not control and cannot make representations regarding the accessibility of third party software/tools, widgets, Add-ins, APIs, etc.
