Attention: Donations of materials to Library Branches is suspended at this time due to COVID protocols.

Donate your books, DVDs and talking books to your local MCFL branch. We need recent materials in excellent condition. For more information about donating appropriate materials, read our Gift Policy. Please call your branch library to arrange a drop off time for larger collections.

Buy a book or DVD from our Amazon Wish List.
Purchase an item from our wish list and it will be sent directly to the branch library of your choice.

Become a volunteer tutor!

To serve the needs of the many adults in Monterey County with limited literacy skills, the Monterey County Free Libraries Adult Literacy Program offers one-on-one, confidential, student centered, literacy tutoring to English speaking adults. We're asking that you consider the personal advantages of becoming a tutor in this program.
