Request Interlibrary Loan or Zip Books
How to Request an Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service that allows cardholders to borrow books, microfilms and other materials not available at our library, from other libraries in the United States. This service is free, however, if the lending institution charges a fee, the fee will be passed onto the borrower. To request ILL please visit or contact your branch library.
How to Request a Zip Book (starting November 25, 2024)
Zip Books are an alternative to ILL. Under the Zip Books program, patrons may request items that the library does not own. The library will order the item from Amazon and the item is shipped directly to the patron’s home. When the patron is finished with the item, it should be returned to the library and added to the collection.
- Adult patrons may request up to 5 Zip Books per month
- Books, DVDs, and audiobooks on CD may be requested - no digital formats may be requested
- Titles that the library owns will not be purchased
- Titles must be published at least one year prior to request
- Staff will determine whether ILL or Zip books are the best method to satisfy patron requests
- Limit of $50 per book, $50 per DVD, $75 per audiobook
