Below are a list of recommended resources curated by MCFL Librarians. All of these resources are FREE for teens and are both educational and fun!

• Carnegie Learning iCulture
  A cultural immersion resource for Spanish, French and German language learners that includes travel videos, day-in-the-life videos, and current news articles. This resource is FREE through the end of the school year.
• Codecademy
  Users can learn to code interactively in twelve different programming languages.
• CommonLit
  A free collection of fiction and nonfiction. Search and filter the collection by lexile, grade, theme, genre, literary device or common core standard.
• For the Sake of the Child Webinars
  For the Sake of the Child Podcasts
  These webinars and podcasts address a variety of topics that assist parents in becoming their own children's best advocates.
• Khan Academy
  Practice exercises and instructional videos for kindergarten to calculus.
• Learn at Home
  An essential website that gives children, families, and educators valuable cross-curricular, literacy, and current events resources. Scholastic will continue to update and augment this resource as the crisis unfolds. Updated to include Spanish resources.
• Leaving the Military
  For students whose families are leaving the military, this is a set of 3 short videos that speak directly to those challenges. Students will find good transition advice as the child of a Veteran.
• Monterey Bay Aquarium Live
  Variety of live web cams featuring the various animals at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Narrated feedings are also offered daily.
• NASA STEM Page
  Activities and opportunities selected by NASA STEM experts for all grade levels.
• National Geographic Learn @ Home Page 
  Curated collections of learning activities to implement at home. Subjects covered include biology, ecology, earth science, geography, physical geography and social studies.
• SchoolQuest
  Supports military and Veteran families' of middle and high school students navigate the academic school year. Tracks academic progress, stores student profiles and hosts checklists, reminders and notifications for each step through graduation. Also has a search tool to help identify local schools matched to a student's interests and needs.
• Smithsonian Tween Tribune 
  Articles on science, history and current events categorized by grade level. There are also articles in Spanish and the Lexile level is provided for each article.
• TedEd
  Originally designed for education professionals to better understand military and Veteran students, this resources provides great information for Veteran-connected parents as well.
• Vidcode
  Vidcode allows users to create video filters, simulations, augmented reality and other creative projects, all while learning the fundamentals of computer science and web programming.
