An eligible CNC applicant must have a qualifying psychiatric diagnosis of either:

  1. Schizophrenia,
  2. Schizoaffective Disorder, or
  3. Bipolar Disorder

The applicant’s mental illness must rise to the level that qualifies for Medical and Social Security disability benefits based on inability to work for a year or more.

Applicants must reside in Monterey County, must be a US Citizen, or possess a permanent resident alien card/green card.

Eligible applicants may have a secondary diagnosis of substance abuse or dependence.  Substance abuse/dependent cannot be the primary problem or presenting diagnosis issue.

Exclusions include:

  1. Serious or violent felonies
  2. Gang or sex offenses
  3. Substance abuse or dependence as a primary diagnosis
  4. Parolees
  5. Organic brain disorders such as Traumatic Brian Injury. Dementia, ADHD
  6. Developmentally Disabled/ San Andreas Regional; Center (SARC) clients.
  7. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Depression,  Personality Disorders as primary diagnosis
