Children & Youth (0-18 YRS)

Supporting the health and well-being of the children, youth, and young adults in Monterey County includes caring for their mental health needs. Know that you are not alone, we are here to help parents, caregivers, children, youth, and young adults when mental health symptoms become more challenging.

Services

The Monterey County Behavioral Health Child and Youth services, otherwise known as the Child and Youth System of Care (CSOC) offers comprehensive outpatient specialty mental health services for children, teens, and young adults experiencing moderate to severe mental health and substance use challenges that significantly affect their daily functioning.

Our mental health and substance use services are available for Monterey County residents who are Medi-Cal beneficiaries, uninsured, undocumented, or involved in other county agencies such as the Office of Education, child welfare, Juvenile Probation/courts, or special education.

We believe in personalized care that considers each individual's unique needs. Our approach is centered in being trauma-informed and inclusive of different cultures and families. We partner with other child and youth-serving agencies such as the Monterey County Office of Education, First 5, Department of Social Services, Juvenile Probation, and community-based organizations. We also work closely with parents and caregivers to ensure comprehensive support for the emotional, psychological, and physical well-being of the whole person.

Accessing Care

Call the ACCESS line at 1-888-258-6029 to speak to an ACCESS representative who can help you find the right service for you or someone you care about. Our lines are answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and our services are available in both English and Spanish.

If you are involved with other county agencies, such as the Office of Education, child welfare, Juvenile Probation/courts, or special education you may work with them to connect you to services.

If you have private insurance coverage through a health plan, it is recommended to call the health plan directly to get a referral to a covered mental health provider.
