Who is Monterey County Behavioral Health?

Welcome to the Monterey County Behavioral Health Department, a division of the Monterey County Health Department. In collaboration with our partners, we passionately promote prevention services and provide a wide range of mental health and substance use services throughout the county. Our care reaches over 12,000 individuals, encompassing adults, youth, young adults, children, families, and caregivers. We provide, either directly or through our contracted provider agencies, a variety of services in outpatient, residential, and school-based settings. From prenatal through the senior years, our services are provided to those who are experiencing severe mental illnesses and substance use challenges. This includes MediCal eligible beneficiaries and those within underserved populations, ensuring that everyone finds the support they deserve. You don’t have to face difficult times alone, we’re dedicated to being by your side.
